A bit of philosophy behind doing it "wrong".


The following is a brief summary of the short video above, with a few additional thoughts.

I see small indie game development as an opportunity to try out risky ideas, crash and burn, and still only have to answer to no one but yourself. Knowing and accepting from the start that your creation's target audience it probably just you, and  going with it anyway is a luxury afforded only by making your own thing. But I like that, and I always appreciate the opportunity. I admit it's an extreme position, and is not the one to take if you're looking to make a living creating games, but if the option is on the table, perhaps it's worth considering.

Mac user here: I bought the game but cannot start it. After pressing "Launch" a Finder window open that shows "Dooria.app.zip". After unzipping I get a "Contents" folder but no executable.

Sorry for late response. Are you trying to launch from the itch.io app?

I did. But the issue has resolved now after the update to Big Sur!
